The first-phase joint venture is expected to have a total investment of over 400 million euros with annual production capacity of 140000 cars and 220000 engines. The new plant will be built on a land of over 700000 square meters and is expected to run into operation in the second half of 2011. The first car model to be produced by the joint venture will be a mid-class Linea sedan while the first engine will be a Fire 1. 4L turbo gasoline engine. StanfordBloomberg News Campbell Soup Co. the Camden food company said yesterday that chief executive officer Douglas Conant was injured in an automobile accident in New Jersey on Thursday and is recuperating from weekend surgery. Conant was a passenger in the back of a company car operated by his driver when it and a second vehicle collided on the New Jersey Turnpike Anthony Sanzio a Campbell spokesman said in a telephone interview yesterday. The executive suffered broken ribs and other injuries Sanzio said without elaborating. He also said the driver suffered cuts and bruises. He said the company was not aware of any citations issued to either driver.
