Auto parts maker shutting down N. Indiana plant

The company has told state officials that its plant in thenortheastern Indiana town of Grabill would be closed for anindefinite period. The Allen Park Mich. -based auto parts manufacturer did not givea reason for the closure but it cited the loss of a major customerwhen announcing planned layoffs at another Indiana plant lastmonth. Meridian told Shelbyville officials last week that it wasshutting down its 295-worker factory in that central Indiana city.
