Why the auto bailout should fail

Auto industry execs have been coming to Washington hat-in-hand (after getting off their private jets) to beg for a government handout. Of course they need it RIGHT NOW or they will go under be unable to operate and cause the sky to fall and the ground to tremble. While I still believe the government should not have stuck its nose into any of these bailout measures I want to lay out why this specific bailout should not under any circumstances be allowed to pass. 1) A bailout will not change the business process but will just extend poor business planning that got them into this mess. A cash infusion to alleviate the problem will not mean anything if GM Ford and Chrysler don’t change their business model or business practices.
