24 over-the-wall crew beat Mark Martin’s No. 01 crew in a tiebreaker to capture the 2007 pit crew championship. Gordon’s and Martin’s crews ended the season with four wins apiece in the contest to have the fastest times during the races with the No. 24 winning because of a higher finish in the Nextel Cup point standings.

Though Montoya scored 276 points to runner-up David Ragan’s 252 in the 2007 Nextel Cup rookie battle Montoya 32 isn’t your typical first-year driver. In fact Montoya has an Indianapolis 500 victory and a CART championship to his credit to go with seven victories in Formula One. When it came to Cup racing however he was a novice though he didn’t drive like one for long. In the spring race at Atlanta he finished fifth.
