It was the last race under the Nextel Cup banner; NASCAR’s top series will be called Sprint Cup next year. It also was the last race for the “old” car. Everything is Car of Tomorrow next season.

(AP) — A federal judge said attorneys for NASCAR International Speedway Corporation and Kentucky Speedway should consider returning to the bargaining table. District Court judge William Bertelsman said Monday an expected monthlong trial followed by several years of appeals could be avoided if the two sides continue mediation.
