(AP) — Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon are quickly turning the Chase for the Nextel Cup championship into their own private duel. A two-tire stop for Johnson paid off with a victory Sunday at Atlanta Motor Speedway making the Chase a virtual dead heat at the top between the reigning champion and his Hendrick Motorsports teammate and friend. But thanks to a wild finish they wound up first and seventh leaving four-time champion Gordon with a nine-point lead with three of the 10 Chase races remaining. “I just think it’s going to be a fight to the end” Johnson said.

Speaking at the protest CPI (M) town secretary V. Rambhupal stated that about 8000 poor families were eking out a living by plying autos in the town. Unable to bear the costly petrol and diesel prices of which were hiked several times in the recent years the auto drivers had taken to using LPG for their families’ survival he saidThe auto drivers had been demanding setting up a gas filling station in the town for the last three years and the officials had assured them in the past that the vehicles would not be seized until a gas filling station was opened. However the officials had started seizing the autos using the LPG from October 22 by overlooking the assurance given in the past.
