The track announced its 2008 schedule Tuesday which includesthe NASCAR weekend in April being a week earlier than this season. The slate also includes the IndyCar Series in June and the secondNASCAR date in November. The NASCAR Nextel Cup Samsung 500 is scheduled for Sunday April6 a day after the Busch Series race at the 1½-mile track. The second NASCAR weekend will feature a tripleheader TheNextel Cup Dickies 500 on Sunday Nov.

Bill Davis Racing hopes to move Villeneuve up to Cup competition by the start of the 2008 season after he accumulates experience later this year in the Craftsman Truck Series. Villeneuve will start off in a truck because it is similar to the Car of Tomorrow that is used in the Cup Series. Villeneuve’s interest in Cup racing comes on the heels of the announcement that Jeremy Mayfield will leave his seat in Davis’ No. 36 Toyota at the end of the season.
