– Jonathan Bomarito won his first ChampCar Atlantic race this season and Raphael Matos clinched the serieschampionship with a fourth-place finish at the San Jose Grand Prixon Sunday. Bomarito started the second-to-last race of the season from thepole and led every lap on the way to a 0. 898-second victory overFrench rookie Franck Perera. Perera who entered the race as the only driver able to catchMatos for the championship earned his 11th consecutive top-fiveand his seventh consecutive top-three result. Canadian Robert Wickens finished third.
