– In a race overshadowed by sadness for the death of NASCAR icon Bill France Jr. claimed his first Nextel Cup victory Monday in the rain-delayed Autism Speaks 400 at Dover International Speedway.

– Tony Kanaan was cruising along ready tosettle for second place when he drove off turn four on theMilwaukee Mile and saw leader Helio Castroneves spinning down thetrack with just 25 laps left in Sunday’s IndyCar race. Kanaan sped into the lead wondering what might have happened tohis Brazilian countryman and longtime friend. “You usually don’t crash on the straightaway” Kanaan said. What happened to Castroneves was a collapsed rear wing just thelatest in a long string of misfortunes on the suburban Milwaukeetrack for the Team Penske driver.
