Downgrades greet Bajaj Auto demerger

Disappointment about the post-demerger structure and a lack of clarityabout future business plans have been cited as the main reasons for thedowngrades. Bajaj Auto shares have fallen around 16% in the past twotrading sessions following the announcement of the demerger plan. The stockclosed at Rs 2287 on Friday. The surprise revelation that Allianz? Bajaj?s partner in its two insurance ventures ? has a?call option? to buy up to 74% at a nominal price was the biggestdisappointment in the demerger plan.
GM signs auto technology research deal with China Education Ministry

In a statement GM said it will share its technology and expertise with Chinese universities as part of its effort to encourage technology innovation. As part of the agreement GM will fund a three-year program that will reward researchers at Chinese universities who make major achievements in automotive technology innovation the statement said.
