Govt firm on going digital auto strike goes on

The auto drivers whohad gathered in large numbers near the commissioner’s office stopped rickshawsthat were plying and passing by that road. Some drivers who had defiedthe strike were also roughed up. Even as the union members flexed their muscleson fellow auto drivers the traffic in the area came to a grinding halt for 20minutes. Policemen who were onbandobust had to resort to lathicharge since passengers travelling in some autostoo were asked to get down andabused.

Richard Childress has high expectations for second-year driver Clint Bowyer and says it will be a disappointment if Bowyer fails to qualify for the Chase for the NASCAR Nextel Cup this season. Childress hopes to get all three of his teams into the expanded Chase. His other two drivers Kevin Harvick and Jeff Burton made the field last year. Harvick is on the shortlist of title contenders and Burton isn’t far off it.
