will close two plants in Canada and one each in Missouri and Indiana eliminating 440 jobs the auto parts maker announced Tuesday. Four other plants expected to close within the next two years will be announced sometime next year said Dana Chief Executive Michael Burns. The four plants identified are in Syracuse Indiana; Cape Girardeau Missouri; and Guelph and Thorold ntario. Dana which filed for bankruptcy protection in March announced last month that it would close eight of its 66 plants.

The surplus grew 5. 51 trillion yen ($13billion) from a year earlier the Ministry of Finance said inTokyo today. The income surplus which measures the differencebetween income coming into the country and going out rose 36percent to 1.

byline –>Tuesday December 12 2006A man who apparently staged car trouble and then deliberately steppedinto traffic and was killed last week was identified as Brian Lutz 25of Superior the Boulder Daily Camera reports. Lutz a University of Colorado graduate student in accounting wasknocked 65 feet after stepping in front of a delivery truck traveling60 to 65 mph. Police haven’t given a reason for his apparent suicide. Professor Frank Selto chairman of the accounting department at CUtold the newspaper Lutz was a “marvelous student” who excelled in anintensive five-year program aimed at attaining concurrent bachelor’sand master’s degrees.  – Neighbors of Richard Childress Racing would like to drop the black flag on the operation. Until a few months ago racing the engines at the RCR garage in Welcome was never a problem. Then the team cleared 10 acres of forest between its buildings and nearby neighborhoods for its expansion. Those trees served as a muffler for the noise. Now that they’re gone people say the noise is unbearable.
